Sens not giving up the ghost yet?

Published by ndtii95 at 6:47 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Despite being quite a ways out of the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference, it appears that maybe the Senators aren’t quite giving up on the season yet, lending credence to the rumors that Ottawa GM Bryan Murray’s job security is based on the Sens making the playoffs.

Today’s deal, trading versatile forward Dean McAmmond and a first round pick to the long dead Islanders for strong two-way forward Mike Comrie and puck-moving defenseman Chris Campoli doesn’t look like the kind of move made by a team that’s looking at next season.

I think it looks like a great move for both teams.  Campoli wanted a change of scenery, and Comrie never wanted to leave Ottawa in the first place.  The Isles pick up a versatile player and more importantly, another high pick to help in their rebuilding process.

For the Senators, it finally seems to indicate that Bryan Murray realizes that maybe it wasn’t all Craig Hartsburg’s fault.  I think it’s a case of too little, too late - and probably too late to save Murray’s job.

This should just be the start - the rumors are flying around the league like crazy, and I can’t wait to see how it all shakes out………I love this time of year!
