And now the fun begins!
Well, hockey fans, the trade deadline is upon us, and so far, it’s been one of the quietest I can remember. Usually you’ll have a few deals happen in the days leading up to it, but this year, only two very minor deals on the way here.
In fact, most of the trade news so far has been non-trades - guys re-signing with their current team, like Backstrom in Minnesota and Kuba with the Senators, or claims of guys being “off the market” like Pronger in Anaheim and the Blues’ Tkachuk.
However, the first shot was indeed fired a little while ago, as the Blue Jackets traded G Pascal Leclaire to the Senators for winger Antoine Vermette. Let’s see if this shakes up some of the GMs and reminds them that it’s time to start making some noise!
